Diabetes Awareness and Action Coalition

Diabetes Awareness and Action Coalition works to prevent diabetes and support those living with this chronic condition through education and community programs. We provide free diabetes screenings at health fairs and community centers identifying at-risk individuals. Our prevention program teaches lifestyle changes that can delay or prevent type two diabetes onset. We help newly diagnosed patients navigate the overwhelming process of managing diabetes. Our insulin assistance program helps uninsured and underinsured people afford life-saving medication. We teach blood sugar monitoring, meal planning, and medication management through hands-on workshops. We provide medical supplies like glucose meters and test strips free to those who cannot afford them. We advocate for affordable insulin and diabetes medications nationwide.
